About the Fundraiser

Only 26 years old, Mohd. Sujathullah from Hyderabad has hundreds of people counting on him for their survival.

This young man’s day starts early in the morning, as he travels between the city’s three major hospitals- Niloufer, Koti, and NIMS hospital- feeding more than a thousand mouths each day from his own pocket.

Mohd’s humanitarian endeavour began in 2014, while he was pursuing a Pharmacy degree at university.

“I was giving a supplementary exam for a subject. At that time I made a vow that if I passed, I would feed 10 people. Following my good results, I picked up 10 food packets from a nearby hotel and that’s how my journey began, he said.

Overwhelmed by the manner in which they rushed to him at the sight of food, Mohd realized how dire the situation really was and made up his mind to help as many in need as he could.

Since then, this simple vow has grown into a daily occurrence that thousands of people depend upon for survival.

As a student and the son of a retired government teacher, Mohd didn’t have much money to spare. Yet, he didn’t let this deter him. After spending all his pocket money, he reached out to his family.

“I asked them if they could donate one day’s worth of their monthly income. Fortunately, I got a good response.”

Hunger knows no holidays– and this is why the young man has continually been waking up every day, rain or shine, to save the needy from starvation. He has now been consistently showing up with food bought with his own money for 1,110 consecutive days.

To cope with the vast numbers of people counting on him, Mohd set up the Humanity First Foundation. Since then, he has also expanded his noble cause beyond food distribution and has taken to supplying clothes, blankets and groceries to people in the streets as well as to orphanages and homes for the disabled.

No life is undeserving of love and care. This man’s simple promise to help those in need has had a profound effect, and he makes sure to provide those dependent on him with the best. Every month, his expenditure totals to roughly Rs 1,50,000.

The Humanity First foundation is looking to reach more people and help in more ways, including by providing jobs counselling and medical aid. To do this, he needs support from generous supporters like yourself. Do consider donating, whatever amount you can. Each and every donation will go a long way to sustain this admirable cause.
