Hungama Artist Aloud is putting together a mega online concert – Independent Together #StayAtHome #StayEntertained for our daily wage earners with over 75+ Independent artists across the world, coming together, in this time of the lockdown and social distancing.
The objective behind this project is to not only present the independent space across art forms around the world as a parallel industry to mainstream talent and content that has already been affected by this situation but also a way to get people to sit up and notice the talent. With the possibility of life being online for the next 6-12months even for entertainment and talent, we hope to present this Mega Online Concert as a trailer to what kind of shows one can see from artists. The agenda is to inspire the world with music and entertainment and with the artist’s creativity that needs to continue to be the focus even in these times of uncertainty.
The pandemic has engulfed the entire world. The rapid spread and lack of vaccines has made it difficult to curtail the disease. As a safety measure, the Government of India has extended an initial 21-day national lockdown and we are now in Lockdown 4.0.
However, amidst the lockdown, people who are affected the most are the Daily Wage Earners or those living in vulnerable conditions who have no safety net to fall back on. Many of them are staring. Even though the Government is taking commendable measures to reach out to vulnerable families, the need is immense.
What we are doing to help
Habitat for Humanity India has stepped in to sensitize and raise awareness on the importance of hygiene and sanitation through our WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) program.
To practice caution, Habitat for Humanity India is not deploying our staff on ground but is working in partnership with state governments, local government administrations or government agencies.
Our collective action can save lives
The Need is Immense and we are seeking support from our supporters in the following opportunity areas:
We seek your support to mobilize funds for ‘Family Essential Kits" for a Household. The cost of each "Family Essential kit" is Rs. 2,500/-
Habitat India will join hands with local District/Block/Village level authorities to spread awareness. Habitat will leverage on its local office and implementation partners who in turn will engage with the health network of the local authorities to coordinate with CBOs, SHGs and local organisations to identify community workers.
Keeping in view the guidelines released by the Central Government and State Governments, we will not be organising any mass gatherings. As much as we wish to be on the ground to help, the best thing to do now is to follow the guidelines laid down by authorities and support them through all possible means.
Work done and the families supported
We have provided family and hygiene kits in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Delhi. With your support, we can expand our relief kits to all the needy families.
Donations made to Habitat for Humanity India are eligible for Tax Exemption under Section 80G. Habitat for Humanity India has been awarded with 1A – the highest rating by CRISIL.
Our appeal to you
Every helping hand needs to support these families in the time of crisis. Your generous donation can ensure that no family, no child and no elderly has to starve or suffer during these tough times.
