About the Fundraiser

If you're lucky enough to do well, it's your responsibility to send the elevator back down.
Kevin Spacey

We’re sending the elevator back down… to help young sportspersons with real talent and potential to realize their dreams – Priyanka Chopra

The Team

For the past 2 years, the entire team involved in the making of the film Mary Kom, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Priyanka Chopra and Omung Kumar have spent days and nights reliving the life of 5 time world boxing champion, Olympic medalist and all round Superwoman, Mary Kom.

‘Mary Kom’ is directed by Omung Kumar, and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures & Bhansali Productions. The film released on September 5th 2014. In this much awaited film, Priyanka Chopra will essay the role of Mary Kom in a film that has inspired the life and times of this inspirational champion, capturing her struggles, successes and most of all, her never-say-die spirit.

Today, we are proud to call ourselves Team Mary Kom.

Our Eureka Moment

During the course of the this journey, we truly understood the hardships that this inspirational woman has faced in her quest to bring world glory to her country.  We also saw, first-hand,  the passion with which  she was trying to give back to the community… her drive to give the talented, yet less privileged young men and women the chance to realize their boxing ambitions and dreams via the Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation.

Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation

It was plain inspiration that led Mrs. M.C. Mary Kom to take up the challenge of opening an Academy from her own expenses (No sponsor).

The Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation was established in 2006 by Mary Kom and her Husband K. Onler Kom.  This Non-Profit Sports Academy was created with a vision to help talented, underprivileged individuals and produce world-class boxing talent to represent India on the international stage.

The fact is, like her, there is a lot of hidden and untraced potential in the Indian interiors. We have enough skills and willpower to bring laurels to our nation. We have the heart and the passion. What we need now is the right guidance and training.

The academy has produced State and National Medalists in different weight categories. The vision for the future is to continue this and better it with more achievements.

Our Mission

Team Mary Kom wholeheartedly supports the Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation and would like to create awareness, not just about the Foundation, but also support Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation’s vision of a brighter future for our underprivileged talent. Any and all funds raised will be given directly to the Foundation.

You can bring India more medals and laurels by joining this worthy cause. Do your bit. Join us and become a part of Team Mary Kom.
