Do you think completing 10th grade is important?

 As you enter Kavita’s modest hut in Katol village, she brings out a mat for us to sit on and refuses to sit on it herself. When asked why she wouldn’t sit, she mentions that in her community you cannot sit in front of your elder brother-in-law. It makes you wonder how a woman, tied up with as much tradition as housework finds the time to study every day. There is only one answer: will and support. Her own will and determination to study against all odds (which were quite a few) and the strong support of her family members and her husband. She is one of the many students supported by Pratham’s Second Chance Program.

I am raising funds for " Second Chance Program ".

The Second Chance Program was started in 2011 by "Pratham Education Foundation" .

Following are the Main objective of this programme:

      > To help girls and young women from underserved communities complete their secondary school education

      > To provide market relevant vocational skills to the students in order to increase their employability

 About Pratham :

In a country with 29 states, over 600 districts, and more than 350 million children, Pratham believes that every child should be in school and learning well. Pratham started in 1994-1995 in Mumbai; then we worked to ensure that children had access to pre-school education close to their homes. Over time, Pratham’s work has grown to cover different aspects of education for a broader age range – especially from age 3 to 14. Pratham’s work has also increased in scale – today we have a presence in over 23 states in rural and urban areas.

One of Pratham's flagship programme is Pratham Open School of Education which is also known as Second Chance.

Funds related details:

Every year in each center around 90-120 girls are enrolled for this course. To support one girl's education individually, we require Rs.25,000 ($375).  This includes tuition fee , teaching & learning materials, examination preparation & application fee.

I am raising funds for 10 girls which is almost Rs. 2,50,000 ($3750).

I need your support so that with your small contribution, I can help  to accomplish the dreams of 10 girls to complete their Secondary School Education .
