Mission to build two charitable eye hospitals

To inspire the masses and young generation about organ donation, education, and strong determination, we are working towards propagation of social awareness using innovative & creative methods, like Chak De Productions came up with a movie on the life of legendary ophthalmologist Padmashree Dr. Tatyaarao Lahane.

Dr. Lahane hailing from a very poor background went on to become a world-renowned ophthalmologist and a great a social worker with his hard work, vision and never say die spirit. During the failure of both of his kidneys, his mother donated him the kidney and saved his life, strongly giving a message of organ donation in 1995. 

As a Producer & Director of the film “Dr. Tatya Lahane… Angaar power is within” Virag Wankhede has taken up the challenge for success in the same. Efforts are focused on achieving a place in Guinness World Records for Relay Singing. He has always selected innovative as well as odd paths, whether it be a creation of a record through placing a band over the eyes for 100 days so as to propagate Eye Donation movement and experiencing what it is like to be a blind person. Then there was a Guinness World Record on Colours Channel through reality show ‘Guinness World Record ‘Ab Todega India’, through synchronized Table playing with 155 Table players for continues 90 seconds. He has established a “Limca Book of World Record” and “Guinness Book of World Record” in 2008 by individually singing 1,532 songs continuously for six days and six nights. In 2009 created another world record in Guinness Book of World record through Marathon singing of 8,500 songs within 24 days with 500 singers. 

We are planning to attempt a Relay Singing Guinness World Record for a song from the movie “Dr. Tatya Lahane…Angaar power is within”. We’ve conducted auditions and press conferences in most of the district of Maharashtra and shortlisted more than 300 artists for the record. It is an attempt to bring laurels to our motherland. This event shall be attended by many celebrities from film industry along with politicians. With these Guinness World Records in place, I am confident that Relay singing will also be successful.

While he was blindfolded for 100 days he came in contact with Dr. Tatyarao Lahane sir wherein he was the person to open my blindfold. Dr. Tatyarao Lahane sir told him if I continue blindfolded he will lose his sight. He saw his life more closely, saw his various campaigns, saw his dedication, it gave me a personal touch. Due to this he came more close to him and thought of a Biopic. It took almost 4 years to make a film on him, which was truly inspiring. He have given everything for this film i.e. time, money, dedication.
