ABOUT MYSELF

My name is Soumya Kavi. I work in a government school in Hyderabad (GPS Kulsumpura) teaching 45 enthusiastic third graders. I am a fellow at Teach for India where we believe that one day all children will achieve excellent education. It is an enriching experience to see my passions like Drama, English and Math come alive in these kids.

ABOUT MY CAUSE

Education is a powerful thing. So few of us have so much of it and so many of us have so little of it. The sad reality is that millions of children in India do not get access to quality education.I believe that the few of us can join hands to bridge this gap in Education. A tiny window of opportunity is all the kids in the underpreviliged schools need to blossom into flowers. Please support Teach for India by donating any amount starting at INR 250. ABOUT THE NGO 

India is facing crisis in its educational sector. Inequity in education is a huge concern-while wealthy Indian children have access to an excellent education, their low-income peers continue to lag far behind. Teach For India strongly believes that in order to achieve educational parity, India needs a movement of leaders in a variety of sectors who are committed to, and will work towards, ensuring that every child in India receives an excellent education. In the short run, TFI will provide a source of dedicated teachers working tirelessly to expand the educational opportunities available to India's least privileged children. In the long run, the program aims to create a powerful network of alumni who, influenced by their experiences in the classroom, will work towards effecting multi-sector solutions to India’s educational problems.

ABOUT THE FUNDS

We spend our day learning. However, lots of avoidable issues come in our way of learning. From the smallest issues like lack of stationery, books, field trips, classroom supplies or any form of teaching aids that would enhance the conceptual understanding of topics. Your help can help us get past such issues and help us be at par with everyone.
