About Global Goals World Cup

The Global Goals World Cup events leverage the power of football as a sport to drive awareness around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), and empower young girls and women around the world to take action.

In this tournament where sports meet activism players are more than just athletes or sport fans. The winning team are the team that are both the most sensational and most creative activists and football players combined. In this tournament it is not about being the best team in the world - but being the best team for the world.

In a fierce competition with over 21 teams, Forca Goa Foundation won the Global Goals World Cup India leg and will now represent India in the Global Goals Activist Trophy in New York (September 2019). A mammoth achievement for our girls!

About the Fundraiser

Getting to New York comes at a cost and we need your help.

As a supporter of a GGWCup winning team, you will not only support the team’s travels to New York City, you will ignite the team’s passion for community, network, and fuel their motivation for change.

You will enable a team of girls to see their football dreams to come to life by representing India on a global platform while inspiring a generation of girls to follow suit, and combine the love of football with sustainable development.

Why should you care?

As of 2017, only 0.93% of the world’s professional footballers are women. For any sphere of human enterprise to have less than 1% of women is alarming. Where do we begin? We can begin here.

This is what we are all about. You and us together fighting for what’s right through a medium that has time and again proved to be the biggest breaker barriers - football.

We have the opportunity to stand up for all this and more. We have the chance to make India proud and show the world that when we all come together, we can make great things happen.

And for that, we need your help.
