I am Shailesh Kataria from SAKEC College, Mumbai, raising funds for AkshayaShakti Welfare Association.
We solicit your support in mobilizing fund for our programs which will help the underprivileged segment of our diverse society.
AkshayaShakti promotes education, heals the needy and empowers with skills and established in the year 2010 (15 June) through a collaborative effort of housewives, artists, teachers, and qualified professionals. Believing every individual has a right to access basic needs – food, water, shelter, education, and employment; team AkshayaShakti emerged from a simple urge of helping to build a society where no individual despite age, gender, religion, stays deprived of basic human necessities. Some of the key projects of AkshayaShakti are:-
- AkshayaAahaar – At AkshayaShakti, we believe that ending the hunger is very critical and we should do our part in making that effort. We currently provide 150 meals a day in Thane area which caters the very poor and need community. In addition, we supply regular rations to some selected poor families, leprosy-affected families, visually-challenged families, old age homes and transgender community. We also provide 200 meals to the bystanders in Thane Civic Hospital on all Thursdays.
- AkshayaAarogya – As part of the AkshayaShakti health scheme, we provide grants to support the hospitalization/treatment/ eye care/ hearing aids charges of the economically weaker section on a case-to-case basis.
- AkshayaVidya - Education is the most powerful tool we have to make the choices in our life and help change the community for a better tomorrow and a sustainable future. AkshayVidya supports this notion and since inception, we have been providing around 100,000 notebooks to the poor children of Zilla Parishad Schools in Palghar district year-after-year. AkshayaShakti also provides educational grants to selected students for their higher education. Twenty toilets built in Zilla Parishad Schools and also one school refurbished and additional classrooms built in Nallasopara (Maharashtra). Under AkshayaVidya vertical, we have three intense programs – SANKALP (Student Leadership Development Program supported by Xceedibles), Astronomy & Space Science (supported by The Sky Explorers), Career counselling for parents and students and helping students in competitive exams (supported by Phasor Education) and Teacher Training and upskilling programme (supported by QUEST – The Learning Hub)
- AkshayaDhaaga - This is a flagship project of AkshayaShakti and this program is designed to empower the needy women and transgender community through skill development. The concept here is to provide a sewing machine, a suitable place, training material and a trainer. The training centre operates as the basic tailoring training centre and also imparts specialized training on soft-toy making, jewellery making, embroidery. The knowledge and the acumen gathered here in this program will further help the women to have a production unit of their own from where they can flourish and grow. We have around 25 centers and trained more than 4,000 women including transgenders. Our mission is to skill 1Million women by 2030 and make them truly self-reliant.
Since inception, AkshayaShakti has impacted 500,000 plus lives.
