Bharat Pannu @ Race Across America 2021

Jai Hind,

I am Lt Col Bharat Pannu, an ultra-endurance cyclist employed with the Indian Army. I am going to undertake RACE ACROSS AMERICA 2020, a 5000 km gruelling cycling race across the US from the West Coast to the East Coast in 12 days along with my 12 support crew members (volunteers) comprising of a doctor, physiotherapist, nutritionist, bike mechanic, navigators & drivers. I will have to ride day & night with minimum rest (only 2-3 hours off-saddle time/sleep). The cumulative elevation gain during the crossing is 53,380 m equivalent to climbing Mt. Everest over six times! I will be contesting for the INTERNATIONAL ARMED FORCES CUP at RAAM and training hard for the same with my coach Mr Tracy Mckay, Alabama, US. 

The expense at RAAM would be over Rs 45 lakhs. I am spending Rs 25 Lakhs from own savings and expect to raise Rs 20 Lakhs from sponsorship & crowdfunding campaign. I would request you to sponsor a few km of the RAAM race route as I am going to be using my personal savings to compete.   

Why I am doing this? 

This is my humble contribution to the Go GREEN Initiative. I am spreading the message of ill-effects of pollution and the benefits of trees. My team will be planting a total of 5000 trees in Nashik (01 tree for 01 km of RAAM). Forest Department, Nashik and M/s Samsonite are supporting us in fulfilling this task.
