About Cardiotrack

Heart attacks have over decades destroyed families and ruined childhoods. Till date it is still the number one cause of deaths worldwide. Cardiotrack was created for the purpose of ensuring that poor families, which are the ones that get most adversely impacted by heart attacks, have a fighting chance.

Cardiotrack is an affordable, hand held ECG device that can measure the heart condition of an individual. Typically it is of invaluable help if every general practitioner in every primary health care centre has one. When the doctor gets the heart reading from Cardiotrack on his/her Android phone or tablet, which is connected via the app or via Bluetooth it can be immediately shared with a specialist located anywhere and a quick diagnosis can be made, which could result in a life saved. Imagine the enormous benefit to a family if the principal earning member can be saved from a possible cardiac incident.

Cardiotrack is currently being used in difficult to reach places such as oil rigs and barges as well as in a few hospitals in Indonesia, in the UK and of course in India. The challenge now is to build capabilities so that it increases it range of influence. With the money raised on Ketto the company that makes Cardiotrack, uber Diagnostics will equip 16 cardiac care ambulances for smaller towns around Bangalore, i.e. Tumkur, Mandya, Kolar, etc.

How will the Funds be used?

The cost break-up is as follows -

Single Cardiotrack unit @ Rs. 40,000 X 16 = Rs. 6,40,000

Cost of each tablet @ Rs. 10,000 X 16 = Rs. 1,60,000

Cost of support system which includes meeting doctors for follow up and demos, emergency replacement of units, additional training = Rs. 2,00,000

TOTAL COST = Rs. 10,00,000

All additional training costs will be borne by the company.

A well-equipped cardiac care ambulance in these smaller towns will make the difference between life and death for people who are unable to see a doctor at short notice. It has been proven that preemptive diagnosis of a person's cardiac condition goes a long way in saving lives and that is the point of this campaign.
