Stay At School Campaign – Our Appeal
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity India, I Devika Manohar, am launching this campaign and need your support to reach out to more girls in need of hygiene kits and essential items. Your donations will enable us to create a safety net for thousands of vulnerable girls across the country.
7 million girls do not have access to toilets in schools, 46% of rural schools still do not have toilets and 22% of primary school do not have separate toilet facilities for girl children.
Menstrual Hygiene is vital to the empowerment and well-being of women and girls worldwide. Being an important issue concerning women and girls in the menstruating age group, it is often overlooked in post-disaster responses.
While housing is at the heart of everything Habitat for Humanity India does, Habitat India has been sensitising and raising awareness on the importance of hygiene and sanitation through the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) program.
The need is immense, more so during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Your donation of a Hygiene Kit will go a long way in helping us empower girls. Let us help our girls stay at school.

The Hygiene Kit donated consists of sanitary napkins (3 packets of 20 pieces each), hand wash gel, vaginal wash, vaginal wipes/tissue papers, one toothbrush, toothpaste, nail cutter and a comb. The cost of Hygiene Kit is INR 1100/- |
Help her receive counsel on Menstrual Health and Hygiene. Menstruating girls in majority of the communities in India undergo traumatic experiences; burdened by taboos, social restrictions and lack of knowledge on menstrual health management. The cost of organising Counselling Sessions is INR 1400. |
Help her access Clean and Functional Toilets at school. Access to clean and well maintain toilets at school is critical to help a girl continue education uninterrupted. Your contribution will help Habitat for Humanity India build a sanitation unit for a school, provide counselling on menstrual health and hygiene and provide hygiene kits to a girl. The cost of Stay at School Kit is INR 3500. |
