DJS Helios- Clean Energy for a Better Tomorrow

DJS Helios is the first student organisation from Mumbai to design and manufacture its own Solar Electric Vehicle. We were crowned champions at the Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC) which is the largest competition of its type in Asia, as well as the Indo Asian Solar Challenge (IASC) in the academic year 2018-19. In the process, we became the first team ever to hold both titles at the same time.

The plaudits we received in our debut year itself, coupled with our aim of exploring an alternative source of energy ensured that we were invited to be a part of Transform Maharashtra 2016 where Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis visited our pit. 

Individual Accolades won ESVC:

1) 1st in Acceleration Test

2) 1st in Business Plan and Cost Report 

3) 1st in Hill Climb 

4) Runners Up in Endurance after completing maximum number of laps 

5) Runners Up in Solar Performance Test 

6) Runners up in Design and Innovation 

7) Runners up in People's Choice Award

                                                         Why Crowdfunding?

• Being a strictly non-profit student organisation, our only source of funds has been college grants. We require a significant amount of support - monetary as well as in the form of in-kind aids to pursue our goals.

•  In the foreseeable future clean energy will be a necessity rather than the luxury it is now. By producing a car using energy that is clean in every sense of the word, it is this eventuality team DJS Helios is preparing for.

•  In a bid to improve our car and successfully defend our title, we have organised this fundraiser and would appreciate any help you can provide.

                                            How will the raised funds be used?

With a substantial amount of state of the art electronics incorporated into the car, the majority of raised funds will be used to fabricate top quality batteries, import high efficiency hub motors and transport the car across the country.

 Please take a few minutes out of your schedule, and help us achieve what no team has ever achieved before - successfully defend the Electric Solar Vehicle Championship.
