For Masters Education in NYU

I am a student admitted to NYU for my Masters in Environmental Conservation Education. This opportunity given by NYU is very important to me especially in terms of personal growth as well as to move forward in my career. The resources that New York University provides, starting from their research centers, labs, the interdisciplinary environment for learning, and opportunities will help me grow as a professional in the field of environment and social justice.

As I come from a family where my mother is a single-parent and is the sole earning member. Being a mother of two children, it has always been a critical process to pay the tuition costs of both my sibling and me, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, where she had lost her job. I was dependent on my mother for tuition until I completed my graduation, while trying to seek part-time jobs for my living costs during the pandemic. This opportunity is also important for my family, so in the future I will be able to support them.

In the end, this course will help me give back to the society, especially during this global emergency of climate crisis, where I would like to work for the vulnerable groups who have been affected due to climate injustice.
