Groceries During COVID-19 Second Wave

In the second wave of COVID-19, the most underserved communities in Hyderabad and throughout Telangana continue to lack access to basic essentials such as food. 

Youngistaan Foundation responded to the first wave of COVID-19 by assisting tens of thousands of families and we are now providing groceries free-of-charge to families in Hyderabad and throughout Telangana who do not have access to purchasing basic staple foods. We are reaching out to vulnerable communities such as people with disabilities, transgender women, senior citizens, people without access to income and others who are struggling without access to food. 

The cost of providing groceries to one family is Rs. 1,160 and the items we are purchasing and distributing free-of-charge will contain the following items for each family:

• Rice (5kg)
• Pulses (1kg)
• Wheat flour (1kg)
• Salt (1kg)
• Oil (1L)
• Chili powder (200g)
• Turmeric powder (500g)
• Milk powder (1 packet)
• Detergent bar (2 bars)
• Body soap bar (2 bars)
• Chyawanprash immune booster (575g)
• Vitamin C chewable tablets (2 strips of 15 each)
