Fundraiser Ended! This fundraiser ended on February 28, 2024
Team Airavata is a student-run technical team under the astronomy club SEDS Celestia, which consists of undergraduates from the esteemed Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BITS Pilani), Goa Campus. We are participating in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, an international event conducted by NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Centre in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. We are building a high-performance human-powered Rover that traverses the surface of the Moon and Mars at NASA’s facility. Being a completely student-funded team, we need your help to raise funds to support our project, win the NASA HERC 2024, and make India proud on an international platform.
Present Work: In October 2023, NASA announced the final list of teams selected to participate in the HERC 2024 on their official website (please click here to view). We are proud to be one of the 4 college teams to represent India in this prestigious event to be held at the Marshall Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Our plans for the upcoming challenge in April 2024 are even bigger: we aim to win the championship event and make BITS Pilani and India proud internationally. We have started the manufacturing of the rover, & team members are trying to get a US visa.
Need for Funds: As a fully student-funded college team, we face hard times ahead of us. To fuel our dreams of winning the competition, we need your help to collect the necessary funds. Funds would help us in procuring the necessary parts of the rover, manufacture the custom-made components, and assembling and shipping the rover to the USA. We have to ship the rover by March end to participate in April from 17th-19th.
Appeal: We request every one of you to contribute to this fundraiser. Every donation, small or big, will have a tremendous impact on our performance. As sponsors of our teams, you will not only receive a vast array of thank-you gifts and rewards for your generosity, but you will also be receiving global exposure at a high-ranking forum like NASA in this highly publicized event. Additionally, at the end of our fundraiser campaign, we will honor you by displaying your name on all our social media handles.
We request you to please help us reach our goal of making an Indian team win the international NASA Human Exploration Challenge. Help us make India proud and donate to our cause!
