Fundraiser Ended! This fundraiser ended on July 5, 2023
“She was not even a year old, in my arms, when her body’s temperature began to rise. We took her to the local clinic, gave her the medicines they prescribed, and prayed that she recovers but for months, she was unwell.
Watching our little Ashna unwell for months had become unbearable. We were compelled to take her to the doctors.”
My wife and I visited the doctor in hopes that they will be able to put an end to my baby’s discomfort, but instead, we heard the news that sank our hearts.
“She’s suffering from Thalassemia Major,” the doctors spoke. “It is a rare blood disorder wherein her blood cells are carrying fewer amounts of oxygen to the entire body. Only a Bone Marrow Transplant can save Ashna’s life.”
My wife, Mubeena, was cradling our girl in our arms as I spoke to the doctor. When I heard about the transplant’s expenses, I begged the doctor for an alternative.
The doctor advised us to continue with regular transfusions while we tried to raise the money needed for her transplant.
A few months later, my second child, Areeb, was born.
“I’ll do everything I can to earn enough for our daughter’s transplant. Don’t worry, Mubeena”, I promised my wife.
As a fisherman, I worked all the hours I could. I looked for daily wages, labour, odd jobs- anything that could get me closer to the amount needed for Ashna’s transplant.
Our daughter, Ashna, is 14 years old today. She has spent over a decade battling Thalassemia- her recurring fever and continuous cough has confined her to the indoors.
“Papa, when will I be able to play with my friends outside? Why am I always sick? I wish I grow up and become a doctor so that I can help people who are unwell!”, Ashna says.
Despite doing everything I can, I still need Rs 29.3 Lakhs ($ 35912.57) for her transplant but I don’t have enough!
All I want is for Ashna to grow up, live the life she deserves, and fulfil all her dreams!
I seek your support as my little one battles this blood disorder. She has suffered so much, help me put an end to her suffering!
Please, help us!
