Hanna & Saif's Wedding Fundraising Campaign

 Nine years ago, I lost my mother to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Like a lot of people who have lost someone, I carried a lot of regret in my heart. Hanna sensed this, and after much struggle, made me realise the importance of facing those regrets. I wish I could have done more to have been there for my mother while she was unwell, but there is no reason that we cannot be there for those who are in need of help today – people who can still be treated and get their life and health back.

In honour of my mom, Hanna and I would like to ask our guests to consider donating to our fundraiser instead of giving us a physical gift for our wedding: Being a part of this fundraiser would be the biggest gift you could give. Together, we have decided to donate the proceeds raised through our wedding to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. There is an increasingly large number of children in India who cannot get treated because their families cannot afford it. St. Jude is a leading organisation that exists for this very cause, and it would be an honour to be able to contribute in any way that we can.

St. Jude's brings cancer-affected children from all over India to large cities where they can receive treatment at little to no cost. Throughout the treatment, they do not only receive the medical treatment and support they need - St Jude's also supports the child with things such as nutritious and proper food; accommodation for the child along with its entire family (because family, happiness and peace of mind is important for each child's recovery); mental health services such as therapy, trauma and stress management; transportation; educational programmes for children to be able to continue their schooling throughout treatment; and celebrations for special events and holidays. All to make sure that each child can gain strength back to full recovery.
