India-Russia Art Exhibition Participation

I am Aadit Basu. I am an artist and a photographer with architectural background, running my own architectural photography firm. My passion lies in ideating and installation art. I have already had two successful art exhibitions in Jaipur. I have also interned at Subodh Gupta Studio. Subodh Gupta is an Indian contemporary artist, very famous for his work, Dada, an installation art placed at the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. Recently my work has been selected at the coveted ‘Indian Contemporaries’ (29 Sept. – 8 Oct. 2017) Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. It is an endeavor to bring Indian art closer to Russia and the world. The show is dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of India-Russia Diplomatic Relations and is supported by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India. I feel truly honored to be a part of such an amazing collaboration. It also gives me a chance to represent my nation. In order to make this initiative a success, I need to raise an amount INR 15000 which includes the cost of art materials, frames, and logistics.

ABOUT MY PROJECT

Blurred, customized, suited to our wants and needs of the moment, faith is shapeless and ambiguous. The eyes of the faithful view faith in their own ways. It has never been on solid ground and its interpretations rely on spiritual convictions rather than proof. Through this work, the artist explores the amorphous aspect of faith and its infinite dimensions. When faith becomes personal, it becomes intrinsic to a person's identity. It seeps into the very being of a person, the crevices of the mind, the realm of imagination. But there's a thin line between faith and religion, between belief and dogma and, Amorphous Faith is a depiction of this thin line.

This series contains eight digital prints for which special customized frames are required; also the printing needs to be top notch.

The invite is ready, the art is ready! Funds are the only roadblock stopping me from presenting my work on the global platform. It would be a major milestone in my career to be a part of the prestigious collaboration. Representing its nation on an international platform is every child’s dream.
