In the heart of Kolkata’s slums, where narrow lanes echo with the sounds of daily struggle, a group of 50 children dare to dream - of books instead of burdens, of classrooms instead of child labour, of hope instead of hardship.
At Child in Need Institute (CINI), we believe every child deserves a safe space to learn, laugh, and thrive. That’s why we’re launching “Nayi Disha” - a community-based learning centre for children aged 8 to 16 years from the most vulnerable families of the city.
These children live amidst poverty, child labour, early marriage, and unsafe environments - and are at constant risk of dropping out of school. Many are first -generation learners with no support at home. Some work at roadside shops, in tanneries, strap cutting, rag picking and in other hazardous environments beyond school hours or being absent in schools to earn a few rupees. Others stay home to take care of younger siblings.
But it doesn’t have to be this way:
With your support, we can keep them in school and give them a brighter future. At learning centre, the children will receive education support through accelerated learning methodology to cope up with their studies in schools.
What Your Donation Can Do:
₹500 can fund a child’s basic educational materials for a month to continue in school.
₹2,000 can help provide holistic support in a safe environment for the entire group for a week.
₹6,600 can support an educator’s salary for a full month.
₹10,000 can sponsor educational tours to inspire young minds.
₹5,00,000 can support two learning centre.
