Dear friends,

My name is Pari Chheda and I am a student of Jamnabai Narsee School. I am raising funds for Vivekananda Youth Forum for their Project Sparsh - touching lives.

About Vivekananda Youth Forum:

Vivekananda Youth Forum (VYF) is a non-profit, voluntary organization managed by young members who wish to make a difference to their own lives and to empower those less fortunate in areas of education, health, and creativity. The inspiration to form VYF is drawn from the character-building ideas and timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Established 36 years ago in 1987, VYF’s activities include providing education, building character, mentoring, counseling and providing vocational training to youth and children across sections.

The learning gap created due to the pandemic is reduced through the remedial teaching sessions conducted across projects. The work is an on-going effort and to bring a lasting change in the lives of the underprivileged we request your help to create more impact and reach out to more children, youth!
A colossal task lies ahead of us, every day we have more children to educate, feed and rehabilitate. VYF is channelizing all its energies and resources to steadily drive its initiatives. There is always a need for additional resources that add strength to meeting the challenge of providing a better future to children on the streets and in slum areas.

About Sparsh - Touching Lives to grow to their fullest potential!!

Issue: Early childhood care and education (ECCE) aims at the holistic development of a child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. (UNESCO)

Educational institutions were closed due to the pandemic resulting in a huge learning gap and deteriorating mental health of children and youth. With the founders 45+ years of experience in early childhood education and trained teachers, Vivekananda Youth Forum in 2022 launched Project Sparsh - touching lives.

Sparsh provides experiential learning to enable holistic growth and development of young minds. Additionally, in the space adolescents and young individuals receive mentoring and counselling from trained and experienced professionals.

Action:
A pre-school for children who have never been to school and who are at least 2.9 years receive foundational learning. In the inaugural year 52 students received quality learning.

Impact:
Foundational learning is a pre-requisite for preparing the child for school and for life! The founder's experience is an advantage for Project Sparsh. Best practices and curriculum are prepared by the founders and able teachers will be executing the same. The impact will stay for life when they grow to become able doctors, engineers, lawyers, CAs and so on.
The direction provided by professionals helps in shaping able, confident youth which enhances themselves and their life skills.
So far 75 children and youth have benefitted in the first year of inception of Project Sparsh.
