COVID-19 Emergency Relief For 2000 Families of Daily Wage Workers

Dear friends of Protsahan,

In these trying times where everything is under lockdown, our team is reaching out to help the families of children we work with in slums of Delhi, with whom we have worked with for the past 10 years. All the children we work with come from families where their fathers are the sole breadwinners and are daily wage workers, many work as rickshaw pullers, construction workers, in factories, in tea stalls or roadside dhabas etc. The lockdown has left them with no jobs and no earnings to feed their families, and a massive state of anxiety and apprehension for their future.

Our team is working diligently with partner organizations to deliver dry ration relief packs directly to
the families of disadvantaged children across Delhi. Each relief package contains 10 Kg wheat flour (aata), 10 Kg rice, 1 litre cooking oil, salt, spices, sugar, soap, and detergent, and costs Rs. 1120 (One Thousand One Hundred Twenty only) per pack.

We need your support to help more families who have the added disadvantaged of no money saved in a bank or at home. While we all work from home, please consider donating the money saved on your commute or eating out this month. We need to raise Rs. 2,500,000 (Twenty Five Lakh only) to support more families, especially pregnant women, sex workers, manual scavengers & those at the bottom of the access pyramid in urban Delhi slums over the next few critical weeks of lockdown.*
