Support my efforts to raise funds for Habitat For Humanity India during these difficult times
Dear Friends,
I, Rella Munjral am running this crowdfunding campaign to help everyone who has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am supporting the globally reputed NGO, Habitat For Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is focusing on three important aspects in providing COVID-19 Relief; 1) Distribution of Oxygen Generators and Oxygen Concentrators and PPE Kits; 2) Building COVID Care Centres; 3) Distribution of Family Essential Kits including food and hygiene material.
About the initiative:
Current Situation of Covid in India
As you are aware, the second wave of COVID-19 has hit the country is worse than last year. The current health infrastructure is exhausted in the country due to the increasing number of COVID cases and there is an emergent need for medical facilities with equipment to treat the patients.
There are 34,13,642 confirmed active cases across India and the number of deaths reached 2,18,959 of Covid-19 disease in India as of 3rd May 2021. The cases of coronavirus were decreasing since 27th November 2020 but from 10th February 2021 onwards the cases again started to increase significantly.
The government of India had started to lift the lockdown step by step in certain parts of the country with some fresh guidelines to follow for preventing the spread of the disease. Although the guidelines are in place there is an increase in the number of positive patients due to many reasons i.e. non-following of the Government Guidelines, not maintaining the physical distance, not using the face masks while going out, etc. There are many more deaths as compared to last year. Most of these are because of a shortage of oxygen cylinders and generators in hospitals. These deaths can be prohibited if we raise funds to support the government hospitals with quick distribution of oxygen.
What is Habitat For Humanity's aim and objective to provide COVID-19 Relief?
Habitat India will join hands with local District/Block/Village level authorities to spread awareness. Habitat will leverage on its local office and implementation partners who in turn will engage with the health network of the local authorities to coordinate with CBOs, SHGs, and local organisations to identify community workers.
Keeping in view the guidelines released by the Central Government and State Governments, we will not be organising any mass gatherings. As much as they wish to be on the ground to help, the best thing to do now is to follow the guidelines laid down by authorities and support them through all possible means.
Please donate generously and share this campaign with your family and friends to raise maximum funds.
Donations made to Habitat for Humanity India are eligible for Tax Exemption under Section 80G. Habitat for Humanity India has been awarded with 1A – the highest rating by CRISIL.
