Help empower the children of ROPIO foundation!

The Reach Out & Pass It On (ROPIO) Foundation began with the objective to provide opportunities of learning, development and growth to children hailing from slums. With Values like Sense of Belonging, Compassion, Courage, Respect and Understanding being pillars of this foundation, we began working with slum children in order to provide them a chance to live a better and complete life. We believe that Everyone has potential and all they need are opportunities to grow, and so that's what we did exactly - provide opportunities.

Since 2010, ROPIO has catered to over 200 children, (focusing on 50-60 children at a time) wherein we not only provide assistance to slum children studying in government schools, but also provide foundation classes in English, Communications, Elementary Mathematics, General Knowledge and Computers. We also encourage children to grow in their passions and give them a chance to learn what their heart desires, be it Music,Sports, Martial arts, Dance, Arts and Crafts or Theater. We also cater to their dietary needs, health issues and struggles of growing as an individual in a community.

We are especially proud of our older children who, imbibing the values of the organisation, continue to be a part of the NGO as volunteers, teaching the children and passing it on to those who have come in after them, being role models and idols for them. An inspiration, that they too can grow up to be regular college students with aims and ambitions to be whatever they want to be, knowing now that they will be able to do it. 

Our Projects in a nutshell:

1) Education and Overall Development: Raising children aged between 11 and 22 years in three phases.

a) Phase 1: age 11-14 :

 Working on their basic knowledge: English, Math, Value Education

Extra curricular activities: Art and craft, Music, Dance and Sports

Academic assistance: Tuition in school subjects

Exposure: Visit to corporate, Employee interactions, Heritage walks

b) Phase 2: Age 14- 17:

Focused Studies: Encouragement in higher education through practice papers and professional coaching in subjects

c) Phase 3: age 17-22:

Higher education: children enrolled into regular college for higher education to pursue a B.A or a professional course like Physical Education, Hotel Management etc.

Pass It On: Center responsibilities such as accounting, volunteer coordination, time and schedule management and mentoring of younger children are shared among them to build them as a team and train them to be professionals.

Every year we have our annual programme The Platform, which showcases the talent of the young kids in the field of art, music, theater and drama. THE PLATFORM is a culmination of an entire years’ hard work, to hone the skills and nurture the talents of children and present them through a well-orchestrated stage performance which puts the spotlight on the children for that one night. THE PLATFORM is a huge part of our endeavour to empower children to feel like the master of their own destiny. It’s our small effort to steer their dreams and guide their ambitions so they continue to pursue arts as they deem fit.

For many of the students, it's their first time on a stage, taking a lead from their experienced friends; they will courageously perform in front of their parents, siblings and peers. The evening is designed to create a high-quality stage atmosphere where artists and children perform in the same space, encouraging each others’ talents and efforts. As a visitor we hope you witness the LOVE and RESPECT for art and its many forms that ‘PLATFORM’ aims to imbibe in children. The surge in their CONFIDENCE and COMMUNICATION SKILLS has been our biggest achievement.

We aim to raise funds, for The Platform as well as for supporting the Education of 25 kids studying between class 9 and class 12 at ROPIO foundation.  

1. Here is our costing for the ONE DAY EVENT - THE PLATFORM

· Venue Fee (for 1 day) - Rs. 95,000  

· Sound set up (Excluding the venue sound- collar mics, inputs for instruments, floor mics etc.) - Rs. 10000 

· Tenting/ carpeting/ tables/ chairs rental - Rs. 55,000  

· Printing of stage backgrop and signage (standees, signs, badges, t-shirts and stage banner) - Rs. 30,000  

· Stage and venue decoration/design (including lights, decor, fees to electricians, etc.) - Rs. 25,000  

· Buses (2 buses, for 8 hours) @ avg. 8000 per bus) - Rs. 16,000  

· Food/Refreshments Boxes for students, staff & volunteers @ 600 x INR 100 per box - Rs. 60,000  

· Documentation (photo and video) - Rs. 20,000  

· Printing of brochures (approx. 1000 copies) - Rs.16000  

· Training Kids cost (professional teachers in music/dance etc) (10,000 x 5) - Rs. 50,000  

· Costume- Rs. 20,000 

· Make-up and Props - Rs. 10,000  

· Projector and screen - Rs. 14,000    

· Goodie Bags (600 X 200) - Rs. 12,000  

· Misc. Expenses - Rs. 5,000                    

  TOTAL - Rs 4,38,000

You can also choose to contribute in kind. This can take the form of buying us fabric for the costumes, Make-up, Renting moving spotlight etc. ( Find contact details below).

2. You can also help us educate our children by sponsoring their education fees. 

In order to get these children, quality education a part of the total funds goes into making their lessons better and full of holistic learning. 

Education fees for one child (per month) - Rs. 1000

Education fees for 25 children(per month) - Rs. 25000

Education fees for 1 year - Rs. 300000

TOTAL - Rs. 300000+

The future belongs with our children, so let us do all that we can to ensure that our kids are capable and compassionate enough to make this world a better place.
