Saheba Singh and Ira Kulkarni's Fundraiser to Spread Hope and Unity

Hi! We’re Saheba and Ira, and we believe that every child deserves a chance at an education. Through the years, we have heard, seen and actively been part of BIS’s endless efforts on promoting inclusion, and so we felt the need to help out in our own small way. Historically, music has always been a way for people to express themselves, regardless of race, caste or religion. During the period of black oppression, there was an outburst of musical medleys, theatre and more, all revolving around themes of freedom. We will be performing a musical piece, with Ira singing, and Me (Saheba) on the piano, because we also believe that music is a wonderful way to spread joy, but also advocate for a deserving cause at the same time. 

In our principal, Dr. Vakil's words: "The inclusion fund of BIS is a fund endorsed by the parent body at large, to enhance socio-economic diversity at BIS. This allows for the selection of parents who share the BIS philosophy but lack the means to afford it.” 

We want to help build this fund, and hence found this talent show an apt opportunity to do so. 

Although we are all physically restricted in our homes, that has rarely ever confined BIS's boundless enthusiasm. Therefore, we would like to introduce ‘EVOLVE 2020’, our take on the conventional talent show, by connecting it to a cause close to all our hearts, inclusion. This year, we will be using the talent show to collect money for BIS’s own inclusion fund.

One of the most wonderful aspects of BIS is how it makes all of us feel so special and ready to try new things at each assembly, elocution and debate. Whether we are budding bakers or dancers, singers or Rubik's Cube champions, here, at 'EVOLVE 2020', we want to both celebrate each of our unique talents and give other children a chance to become a part of the big, warm and accepting family called BIS. 

Thus, the students of the Bombay International School will be coming together in pursuit of a better future for our school, and to do our bit to bridge the disparities that exist around us, while doing what we love to do. 

We hope our performances and our cause will make you smile, and that you will help us help other children who deserve the sunshine and happiness of BIS.
