Heal-a-Child (HAC):

Over the past ten years, donors of HAC have funded the treatment of more than 680 poor critically ill children admitted in the private hospitals of Hyderabad. Parents of these children have no insurance, no money to pay the medical expenses; HAC is their last resort. Most of the children supported by HAC are newborns who need Neonatal intensive care support. The average support amount by HAC for these children's treatment is Rs.1,50,000/- per child.

2020 has been a challenging time for HAC. Over the last ten years, fundraising was done mainly through events and CSR donations. Due to the COVID-19 and social distancing measures in place, HAC has not been able to conduct the regular signature fund-raising events. In addition, Corporates in Hyderabad, as they have been negatively impacted by COVID19, are unable to make the same donations as before. As a result, HAC donations have reduced significantly.

But premature newborns continue to need NICU support. Poor families cannot afford medical bills which are as high as Rs. 5 Lakh. Even during these trying times, HAC has continued to support these children. Hospitals continue to approach HAC for support. In 2020 alone,

• 73 critically ill children were saved with a support amount of Rs. 68,49,682/-
• 349 newborns were supported at Niloufer NICU where HAC paid for the nurses’ salaries and disposables cost in the total amount of Rs.33,78,923/-

HAC cannot do it alone, we need your support.

Angels of HAC is COVID19 Fundraiser. Children are the angels and help raise funds for their counterparts who are not as privileged. This is a crowdfunding event on a public platform where funds raised by each child will be visible to all. This initiative will allow each child to take a leadership role in the community and inspire others to donate to this worthy cause.
