Fundraiser Ended! This fundraiser ended on January 13, 2023
We were both so very happy the day Adam was born.
It felt like we were blessed. All day long, I would sit with him in my arms, singing to him, talking to him & providing him with my warmth. Like every parent, I felt fiercely protective of him.
I wanted to protect him and provide him with all the happiness that I could but soon this bubble of mine burst and things went completely south - twice.
Adam is only 6 months old but he has already had one surgery and now he needs to have a second one. Or he will not live to turn 1 year old.
A couple of months after his birth, Adam fell sick. He would cry very often and develop fevers routinely. My husband, Shababmon and I rushed to the nearest hospital immediately for counsel. The doctors examined Adam and said that they had found a blockage in the gallbladder and that he needed urgent surgery in order to remove that blockage.
We were extremely worried about Adam but we thought that after this surgery, things would return to normal. We were wrong.
The surgery went successfully and we returned home but Adam got worse. His stomach swelled and after a few weeks, his eyes and skin became yellowish in colour.
I was scared.
I kept asking Shababmon - “What is happening to our child? Is he going to be alright? Soon after we visited the city hospital, the doctors called us to deliver the news I wish we never got.
They told us that Adam’s suffering from Biliary Atresia, a liver disease. The blockage in his gallbladder was not the main reason he was so sick.
Now he urgently needs a liver transplant otherwise he will not survive.
Hearing these words made me burst into tears. I tried to stop and get a hold of myself but I could not. Having already spent all the money we had on earlier treatments, we are barely left with any money to support his current treatment.
We have to travel more than 60 km one way, each time to visit the city hospital. Shababmon works as a painter in the morning and as a security guard in the night. He works tirelessly with just three hours of sleep a day, just so we can arrange funds for our child’s treatment.
But it costs Rs 19 lakh ($ 26065.95) and that’s a huge sum, even for richer people. We haven’t been able to raise even a fraction of it.
The family needs help
With all hope rapidly disappearing, desperate parents, Naziya and Shababmon turn to you for help. Please donate generously for their 6-month-old child to save him.
