Abandoned as a baby, little Ayush needs your help to fight cancer

“When he was just a baby, Ayush’s parents abandoned him. We couldn’t believe anyone would leave behind such a sweet little child. As his grandparents, we knew we would do everything we could to take care of him.”

Ramsundar and Jadavati have been the sole caretakers of their grandson for the past 4 years. 

After he was abandoned as an infant, Ayush’s parents have completely cut off contact with the family. 

The family has lived a relatively happy life, despite struggling to make ends meet. 

Ayush has grown to be a kind and caring little boy, who always brings a smile to his grandparents’ face. 

However, in June of 2021, a dark shadow fell over the family as Ayush’s health began to deteriorate. 

“He used to regularly complain of body ache and joint pain. We thought he might be tired out– Ayush loves to run around and play outside with his friends. But then he started to have trouble breathing properly.” 

Immediately, his grandparents rushed him to the nearest hospital. At the hospital, the 4-year-old was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

His grandparents were shocked by the diagnosis. They’d never heard of such a young child being affected by a disease as lethal as cancer. 

The doctors admitted him as soon as he was diagnosed and began treatment at the earliest. 

Both of Ayush's grandparents are no longer working, and depend on their younger son to provide for them. 

After selling all their valuables, borrowing from friends, and spending whatever savings they had, the family was able to pay for Ayush’s respiratory support and initial treatment. 

Unfortunately, he still needs medical care if he is to stay alive. 

The cost of the remaining treatment will be Rs 4 lakh($5358.73). After draining all their resources, Ayush’s family has nothing left to give him. 

They have nobody else to support them.
