Cancer has rendered my daughter partially blind. Please help me save her!

My husband and I were overjoyed when Pavanisri was born. She’s my first child and the one who helped me experience motherhood.

She came to us as a blessing from the gods above. I would sit with her in my arms all day, singing to her, talking to her, and providing her with warmth. I felt fiercely protective of her, as every parent does.

“I wanted to keep her safe and bring her all the happiness I could, but soon after, the bubble burst and everything went downhill.”

When she was diagnosed, she was barely a year old. Stumbling around and unable to see properly, she had a white pupil and a sluggish eye. 

More often than not, I would notice her continuously rubbing her teary eyes up until they were completely red. After trying several remedies and failing, we immediately took her to the hospital.

"We are deeply sorry, but your daughter has Retinoblastoma or eye cancer. We’ll need more tests to further assess the severity of the damage but she’ll need treatment immediately,” the doctors informed us right away. The news devastated our entire family. 

Our young daughter, suffering from cancer- it all felt like a nightmare. 

The cancer has rendered Pavanisri partially blind. She needs multiple rounds of cancer therapy if she is to survive. The doctors have stated that if we delay the treatment any longer, they may have to remove her eye.

The costs for her treatment were estimated at Rs 6 lakhs ( $ 8186.60 ). My husband is a simple electrician, who barely earns enough for our family to survive with our daily expenses. 

The pandemic wasn’t kind to us either, forcing us to sell our possessions just to be able to afford two square meals a day. We’ve taken on loans and borrowed money from any soul who’d lend us any and have still run short.

Rs 6 lakhs ( $ 8186.60 ) is an extremely large sum for a family in our condition, and I can't bear the thought of my daughter suffering because of our poverty.

She has been losing her sight for the last few months, and as time changes, so do her chances of recovering from her eye cancer.
