My daughter’s life is in great danger. Please help me fix the hole in her heart

What kind of a mother would I be if I can’t even save my own child?

Ever since my 9-year-old Vedanti was born, she has been my whole world. What we lacked in money, we made up for in love and fun.

Sadly, love and fun cannot cure my daughter of the hole in her heart.

It’s been more than a year since her diagnosis and she’s running out of time now.

Looking back at the day when it all started gives me chills. I still vividly remember how helpless and broken my Vedanti looked that day.

Her entire body was burning with fever and aching to such an extent that it made it impossible for her to move. Her condition didn't improve even after consulting the local doctors.

All this time, my husband and I were closely watching our Vedanti and tending to each and every one of her needs to make her feel better, but to no avail.

Finally, after days of seeing my Vedanti cry and wail in agony, I made the decision to travel to the nearest big city to get a diagnosis.

It was at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai that I found out what was causing my daughter so much pain.

“I'm afraid to inform you that your daughter is suffering from a complex congenital heart defect. In layman's terms, it means that she has a hole in her heart. We need to perform open-heart surgery as soon as possible.” The doctor said as he showed me the test results.

Initially, I was shocked. I simply couldn't understand a word the doctor said. But finally, after repeating each and every sentence in my mind, the bitter truth dawned on me.

‘My daughter has a hole in his heart because of which now her life is in danger.’ I thought to myself as tears threatened to break loose.

Even before I could understand any of this, the doctor gave me another blow by asking me to come up with Rs 5 lakh ($ 6855.18) for Vedanti's open-heart surgery.

Present

We’re not wealthy people. My husband works in a small shop and I try to pick up odd-jobs whenever I can. We work hard and we’re happy with what we have.

But what we have is not enough to save our daughter’s life.

The doctors have said it is high time that we perform Vedanti's open-heart surgery or else she might not survive. Even though I have put in every drop of my blood, sweat, and tears, I'm still nowhere near collecting the required amount.

At this point, I beg you with folded hands to help me save my child. She is my entire world but now I'm on the verge of losing her. Kindly do me a favour and donate for her as much as possible to save her life.
