The Young Bombay Forum (YBF), a youth wing of Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently launched Shadow the Leader Program which provides individuals an opportunity to spend a day with their favourite leaders by contributing INR 15,000 to a specific page. To spend a day with Ranjit Shahani, you need to be the first one to contribute INR 15,000 to this page. Only the first person who contributes INR 15,000 will win this chance. The funds contributed will be donated to the charity mentioned below.

Who is Ranjit Shahani?

Ranjit Shahani is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Novartis India Ltd. Most people would know Novartis as a pharmaceutical company based out of Switzerland, having operations in India. What many may not know is that Novartis was the 2008 Super Sector Leader in healthcare for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). In this exclusive interview with The Human Factor, Mr. Shahani shares his experiences about the role of HR in a merger and the challenges in the Indian pharmaceutical market.

What is the Shadow of the Leader program ?

YBF is organizing the “Shadow the Leader Program”, an innovative and unique program for promising entrepreneurs, professionals and management students. The Program is providing them an opportunity to follow a business leader for day/hours and to understand what it takes to succeed in the leader's field of achievement. The Program is purely a philanthropic and learning program and all the net proceeds after all defray expenses will be used for the benefits of the underprivileged children. The Leader will be a guide for one day to the promising entrepreneurs, professionals and management students for business and augment art of giving.The Program serves the dual purpose of mobilizing funds for charity, and also providing promising entrepreneurs, professionals and management students with once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in Corporate India

What is YBF?

YBF a youth wing of Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry was born on the 172nd Foundation Day of the Chamber in the year 2007. The YBF is the Chamber’s response to the emergence of young leaders in the spheres of business, entertainment and politics.The YBF is working towards VISION of nurturing young leaders in India to become globally competitive and contribute towards nation – building and the MISSION of creating a forum of choice for them to achieve professional excellence and act as change agents for inclusive and sustainable development.

The Young Bombay Forum seeks to harness the energy and leadership potential inherentin its membership by encouraging participation in developmental and leadership activities,offering mentoring opportunities and creating a framework for networking outside industry fora. Any Potential business leaders and individuals below the age of 45 can join YBF.

YBF has constantly worked in three verticals, Leadership Development Group, Social Development Group and Professional Development Group and two years ago 4th vertical Entrepreneurship Development Group was created. YBF has taken up the initiative to launch Shadow the Leader Program to move towards
its vision and mission.

Where will the funds raised go ?

The funds raised via this pledge page will be towards WWF-India.

WWF-India was established as a Charitable Trust to stop the degradation of the planet's natural environment and build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. A challenging, constructive, science-based organization, WWF-India, in keeping with the tenets of its parent organization, addresses issues like the survival of species and habitats, climate change and environmental education. Over the years, its perspective has broadened to reflect a more holistic understanding of conservation issues facing the country.

Terms & Conditions

All Participants are requested to read the description of the leader and all other terms and conditions   (http://www.bombaychamber.com) before selecting a particular leader.

1. The Program is purely a philanthropic and learning program and the proceeds will be used for the benefit towards education of underprivileged children.

2. Each participant can claim for only three Leaders at most & person can shadow only one leader in the Program

3. The Program format is that the first person to fund the required amount wins and eventually gets to shadow their leader.  

4. The winner will have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before shadowing the leader, if required by the leader.

5. The winner will not be allowed into board meetings or meetings where confidential information is being shared, unless agreed upon by the leader.

6. The winner will have to make himself / herself available for the shadowing on a day convenient to the leader.

7. The winner will not publish any opinion / video / tweet about the leader, organization or the event.

8. The winner will not be allowed to photograph / film any part of the shadowing without the permission of the leader/ organization.

9. Photographs with the leader will be permitted subject to acceptance from the leader.

10. Organizers are not responsible for any delays or any other issues that may arise for reasons beyond control.

11. The shadow will be at the convenience of the leader and organizers will try to complete the same by March 31, 2016.

12. Winner will need to make necessary travel and stay arrangements for all purposes in connection with this

13. Winner will not approach the leader for any personal requests or favours.

14. The chance of shadowing the leader is with winner and it is not transferable.

15. In case of any discrepancy regarding any matter in connection to this event, the decision of Bombay Chamber of Commerce will be considered as final.
