Who we are
20 students. One car. An entire nation to represent.
Team Jatayu is the official SAEINDIA Collegiate Club motorsport team of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi. We don't just study engineering; we live it. We design, simulate, fabricate, and race high-performance electric all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) built to withstand the most punishing off-road conditions in the country.
To call what we have "passion" is an understatement. The lab has become our home, and these vehicles are an integral part of who we are. Over the years, Team Jatayu has established a legacy of excellence, consistently ranking among the top teams in national engineering design competitions.
Our motto defines our journey: Thrive till the end.
Where your money goes
100% toward getting our car to Korea and back.
Participating in an international competition requires transporting a fully built electric off-road vehicle from Delhi, India to Gunsan, South Korea — and back. This involves a combination of air freight and sea freight, customs documentation, and packaging for safe transit. Every rupee raised through this campaign goes entirely toward shipment costs.
Why this matters
This isn't just about one race.
When Team Jatayu races in Korea, it will be the first time any Indian collegiate team has stepped onto an international Baja circuit in the electric category. Every lap we complete, every dynamic event we clear, every design review we ace — it places India on that map. It tells the world that students from Delhi can build world-class EVs and compete on the global stage.
We have already paid for this moment with years of work. What we need now is the means to physically get there.
What Are We Trying to Do Here?
We are taking Indian student innovation to the global absolute proving ground. Building a custom electric ATV capable of surviving international tracks requires state-of-the-art battery integration, robust thermal management, and precision-engineered structural dynamics.
The logistics of moving an electric ATV across borders are immense. The shipment of our ATV—utilizing a mixed flight and sea freight route to safely transport high-voltage battery systems and structural assemblies under strict international transit regulations is estimated at approximately 15 lakhs. We are launching this crowdfunding campaign to bridge a critical gap in our overall manufacturing, transit, and operational budget. We need your backing to put India on the international electric motorsport map.
What makes our car so special?
There is no factory behind this car. Every tube in the chassis was cut and notched by hand — by the same people who had exams the next morning. The same people who stayed back after college hours because the weld wasn't clean enough and they knew it.
When we switched to electric three years ago, we didn't have a playbook. We figured it out the hard way — wrong assumptions, failed tests, rebuilds from scratch. Nobody handed us that AIR 1 at ATVC Season 9. We earned it the slow, painful way.
That is what this car is. It is three years of getting it wrong until we got it right, built entirely with our own hands.
