About the Fundraiser

The iconic 500 years old Bandel Cheese is India's first cheese introduced by the Portuguese in Bandel in Bengal.

"Save the 500 years old world famous iconic Bandel Cheese !!!

Sri Palash Ghosh's family .... The only family in the whole world to make the world famous cheese for the last 500 years needs your help. This family is in dire financial need & might switch to a different profession. If that happens, then the iconic Bandel Cheese will become extinct forever.

It is an artisanal handcrafted cheese made in small batches and have a cult following around the world. News articles about Bandel Cheese have appeared in several well-known magazines and newspapers like National Geographic, Conde-nast, The Indian Express, The Cheese Professor, The Times of India, etc,.

I'm associated with the artisans making this cheese for the last 10 years. My association with the Bandel Cheese have also been mentioned in several of the news articles.

My aim for raising funds is to help Bandel Cheese is two fold :

1) To get more recognition and market access in India & around the globe ;

2) Help the artisans making this iconic cheese for generations.

So let us come together and help Palash Ghosh & his family to continue keeping this culinary history alive !!!"
