Introduction:

Grannus organization, based at Ahmedabad, is a third generation technology based social startup working to straighten citizen's safety issue. The working concept of Grannus is appreciated by honorable deputy chief minister of Gujarat, Shree Nitin bhai Patel and lead by well known reputed retired IPS officer and former DGP (Gujarat state police head), Mrs. Geetha Johri, whi is president at Grannus organization. is working with the aim to make the public places safer for women. To achieve the goal, first time in India, Grannus has came forward with the concept of integrating people with each other own a technology platform. for the same purpose Grannus has developed innovative patent pending technology DGBSI-RTPP/SRPP and a mobile app named Grannus is developed using this technology which is available at free on Google play store.   

Women Safety

The incidences of rape, physical abuse, eve-teasing etc, are increasing in our own society because of few ill minded people. Because of such pervert, woman of our safety feel unsafe and frightened in public places like bus-depo, malls, etc.

If an incidence of rape or abused occurred, what we are doing! Second day we start candle March protest! Making campaign on social media! Writing blog on Quora! And twitting on twitter!

What our governments do? Promise to arrest culprit soon!

Do you know, even a strong law to hang the accuser is not going to stop this, how your candle march can stop it!

All state and central Government and police departments are taking significant actions to strengthen women safety. Many of the states of India have deputed the special women safety team at every corner. However the major challenge of our country is population. We have low Police: Public ration.

What is the idea?

To overcome this challenge and to provide solution related to women safety at public places, Grannus has started preparing online Grannus women safety group of citizens.

How online Grannus women safety group works?

To make online Women safety group highly effective, Grannus has come forward with new idea and first time in India, developed an in-house innovative patent pending technology DGBSI RTPP/SRPP, on which Grannus has started integration of citizens for Women safety.

Firs time in India, on 27th August 2018, we have launched the concept in social media (Facebook) requesting citizen to become volunteers for women safety. Since then 4300 volunteers are registered with us in Women safety group.

This technology platform is freely available as Grannus mobile on Google play store.

Who is the head of this women safety groups?

Grannus organization has strong management. Retired IPS officer, First Women IPS of Gujarat and First women DGP (Gujarat State Police head), Mrs. Geetha Johri is president women and Child safety division of Grannus organization. Please google the name if you want to get more information about her.

How Grannus works for women safety?

To understand this, let me explain in three parts!

Part 1: How Citizen can join Grannus women safety group

Step 1: Download the Grannus app from Google play store

Step 2: You will be asked to join as volunteer for women safety.

Step 3: If you want to join, click on YES or otherwise you may click on NOT NOW. (We request both Men and Women to join. You can also change the setting later).

Part 2: How a woman can ask for help

Step 1: Download the app from Google play store.

Step 2: Now whenever a woman feels frightened, she has to just click the woman safety button in Grannus app and activate it.

After activating the help button, four actions occur simultaneously;

1. Randomly any 5 people who are nearby 500 meter to 1 km to her will get her help request. They can see her current location as well as your real time movement on Grannus-Google integrated map.

2. List of people in her emergency contact, will get the same request.

3. A call can be placed to either women helpline or police officer as per her wish.

4. Recording of all surrounding voice will be started till she click I AM SAFE button.

Each people, who has received her request message are able to see her movement on google integrated map till 12 hours or till she click the “I am safe” button on Grannus app.

Part 3: How to provide help to women:

If you have joined as volunteer and if a woman nearby to you has activated help button, then there is a chance that you may receive her message for help.

Step 1: Call 181 and inform them about the woman’s request.

Step 2: Inform other nearby people and go to location with them and help the woman in distress till 181 arrives.

By this way we can support to make public places safer for women. If only 10 people from each residential society have joined Grannus app, then we can also ensure the safety in those area.

Financial help request to Citizen’s

The Grannus technology which is appreciated by honorable deputy CM of Gujarat and headed by former DGP (State police chief) of Gujarat has the ability to provide support to woman in distress. However, we need financial support for the operation and day to day execution. Therefore we are requesting each citizen to please support to collect the fund for the activity. To approach more and more people with Grannus app, we have to spend money in advertisement and marketing of this activity. Further the fund will also help us in maintenance and enhancement of technology.

Future Plan:

Our future plan is to develop a one stop solution for all women safety related issues and thereby any woman from any location can ask advice and support for the same.
