When Afaan was born, Amirunissa wanted to celebrate every minute with her child, yet her happiness was short-lived.
In January 2023, Afaan caught an infection months after his birth and became very ill.
"Your child’s health is in a critical condition. His respiratory system seems to have failed due to severe pneumonia.
We need to take urgent action if he is to survive," were the exact words of the doctor that left the parents’ hearts sinking.
"We’ll need to keep our baby on ventilator support for a few weeks. Along with that, he will have to undergo surgery to remove one of his lungs due to the damage pneumonia has caused it.
Costs for the same are estimated at a huge Rs 3.73 lakhs." These words shook the parents’ world.
For a family in their financial situation, an amount as large as this is simply impossible to afford. Samsullah works tirelessly day and night as a driver and earns merely Rs 10,000 a month.
They can't afford INR 3,73,000.00 to save their child.
Since the diagnosis, every day has been challenging for the parents. The family sold all their valuables and took on loans to keep their baby hooked to oxygen support. Now, they've run out of funds.
Unable to afford the hospital stay, they arrange for oxygen cylinder and mini ventilator at home by borrowing money and seeking help wherever possible. Crowdfunding is their only ray of hope during this difficult time.
"We often skip meals just to cover the medical bills. We've asked for money from everyone we could, and there's still a mountain ahead of us to climb. I don't know how we can save our young one," grieved Samsullah.
Things are getting tougher with each passing day. Afaan’s condition is weakening, and without timely treatment, he might lose his life.
At this critical juncture, you are their only hope. Contribute and help save their child.
