“His wife doesn’t know about his condition. She is 5 months pregnant, and we’re worried this news will stress her…”

My son is the pride of our family. He is the sole breadwinner, working as an electrician in a company. He started working at a young age to take care of us and always made sure we had everything we needed.

But today, seeing him suffer after the electrocution incident, I feel helpless and ashamed. Every time I see him, I am reminded of our financial struggles, as we need INR 15,00,000.00 for his treatment.

On the evening of June 1st, just after I got home from the market, my younger son ran into the house, repeating as he ran out of breath, “Hrishikesh…hospital…accident…”

My heart sank. My daughter-in-law was at her parents’ place, and my husband was at home. I knew something terrible had happened and started chanting God’s name.

We rushed to the hospital, only to see my son being taken into the operating theatre. When I got closer, he was unrecognizable because of the burn injuries. I immediately burst into tears, screaming his name.

The nurses pulled me back and explained that my son had been electrocuted while repairing a wire.

“He cut the wrong wire, and because it was raining, the impact was even worse,” I heard someone say in the background.

I couldn’t believe something so terrible could happen to my son. It felt like a dagger was piercing my heart. My younger son ran around, asking everyone for information, while my husband held me as I cried uncontrollably.

After a few hours, the doctors came out and said, “Your son’s upper body has been severely affected, with 50% deep burns overall. His condition is critical, and his recovery will take at least two months.”

Ever since the incident, we have spent over ₹10 lakhs on my son’s care.

As a mother, all I want is for my sons to live long and healthy lives. But right now, I feel helpless because of our financial situation.

If Hrishikesh had been born into a wealthy family, he would have recovered sooner and received the needed care. But now, we have begged everyone around us for support. I even sold all my gold jewelry, and we have taken loans from everywhere.

We are still far from collecting the additional INR 15,00,000.00 needed for his treatment.

INR 15,00,000.00  is a huge amount for poor people like us. It would take us over a decade to save that much on our own.

My daughter-in-law doesn’t know anything about this. She calls us often, asking about him, and we tell her that he’s traveling for work and will be back in a few weeks. She is still at her parents' place, and they understand how this news would affect her.

I only want my son to recover soon and get the necessary treatment on time. He is the apple of our eyes, and without him, our family will fall apart. His wife and their unborn child need him.

Please help us. You are our only hope now.
