On a watchman’s salary, he can’t afford ₹15 lakhs for his son’s treatment!-Ketto

My son, Kasireddy Nikhil, is 11 years old and has been fighting anemia for five years.

We had a hard time paying for treatments as we tried different hospitals, hoping for affordable care.

Since the last five years, our life has mostly been in and around hospitals. But for the last three years, our struggles haven't eased at all owing to our son’s worsening condition! We don't know how we'll manage to afford his blood transfusions.

Doctors say it will cost INR 15,00,000.00, way more than what my husband earns as a watchman!

It all began when we found out about Nikhil's condition in 2018.

The doctors told us the treatment would be expensive, with blood transfusions being the only alternative.

We sought treatment in Andhra Pradesh, but the doctors recommended going to Hyderabad for better care.

In the last nine months, Nikhil has faced blood vomiting and infections, and his health is not stable. He requires frequent blood transfusions now, making our situation even more challenging.

My husband used to work as a daily wage laborer. However, for the last nine months, he hasn't had a stable job, affecting our financial stability.

Recently, he took up a job as a watchman, but the income is not enough for Nikhil's upcoming treatment.

Nikhil has become weak due to low blood platelets, and his education and social life have been severely affected. For the past five years, he has been unable to go to school, and our family has been around hospitals.

Nikhil knows about his condition, but as parents, we try to keep him hopeful.

The financial burden on our family has been immense. We've spent more than INR 10,00,000.00 rupees on Nikhil's treatment, and we had to borrow loans to make ends meet.

We are currently staying in Hyderabad for his treatment, which has posed additional financial challenges.

Sattibabu is the sole earning member, making no more than ₹7500 every month.

Our journey has been filled with struggles, and we face not only health challenges but financial difficulties as well. We humbly reach out to you for support.
