I’m making this appeal with a heavy heart — from the waiting room of a hospital in Hyderabad, where my daughter, Anvika, is fighting for her life.
She’s just 2 years and 2 months old.
On the morning of June 4th, everything changed. I was at home, watching both our kids — Anvika and her elder brother, Chandrakant — as I always do. It was just a matter of a few seconds.
I turned around for a moment, and in that moment, Anvika reached for a bucket of hot water that was kept aside.
Before I could stop her, it tipped.
She screamed, and I rushed to her — but her skin had already burned. Her face, chest, arms, thighs — all scalded. I held her close while she screamed in pain, and I kept asking God why this happened to my sweet baby girl.
We rushed her to the hospital. That moment still haunts me — her little body trembling in my arms, her voice faint, saying, “Ma, it hurts… please make it stop.”
She was diagnosed with 35% scald burns, and the doctors told us her condition was critical. Over the next few days, her wounds got infected.
Her white blood cell count dropped dangerously. They admitted her to the Pediatric ICU, put her on ventilator support, and started strong IV antibiotics and fluids. But even with all of that, she is in constant agony. She cries in her sleep, she cries when they clean her wounds, and she cries for me.
The doctors say the total treatment could cost between INR 10,00,000.00.
And I can’t do anything except hold her hand and cry with her.
My husband works as an ambulance driver, earning just enough to run our household and provide us with basic needs.
Since the accident, both of us have been staying in the hospital waiting room while our elder son stays with his grandparents. We've already spent over ₹2.6 lakhs, borrowing from friends, my father-in-law, and relatives. That’s an amount we have never even dreamed of affording.
We didn’t know where to start collecting such a huge amount of money. And right now, we are completely lost.
Anvika used to be such a happy baby — curious, always running around, playing with her brother.
All we ever wanted was for her to grow up safe, go to school, get a good education, and live a life where she wouldn’t have to struggle the way we do. But now, that future feels so far away. Right now, all we want is to see her smile again, without pain.
If you are reading this — I’m not asking for much.
I’m just a mother, begging for a chance to save her daughter’s life.
Please help us bring our baby back home — healthy and smiling again.
We’ll forever remember your kindness.
