“Before he fell sick, Jashwin was constantly making us all smile. He was the heart and soul of our family. Now, because of his illness, he rarely smiles and his eyes are full of pain.”
Ever since he was diagnosed with blood cancer, my 1-year-old son has been in constant pain- both emotionally and physically.
It all started in November of 2021 when Jashwin caught a fever.
It seemed like an ordinary case of the flu. I made sure he was getting plenty of rest and was well fed. Yet, after nearly a week, his condition had not improved in the slightest.
I began to grow more worried about my baby’s health, unsure of what was making him sick.
He would cry day and night, and no matter what I did, he seemed to be in pain.
My husband, Sathish, and I took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctors took some blood samples.
Before receiving the results, I was anxious, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get the news that my son had a fatal disease.
Unfortunately, the test results revealed that Jashwin had acute leukemia- a deadly form of blood cancer.
I was devastated. Immediately, I knew we didn’t have the financial means to help our son.
“Sathish works as a laborer. His income provides for our entire family of four.”
The doctors started Jashwin’s cancer treatment immediately, admitting him to the hospital as soon as he was diagnosed.
Sathish and I emptied out our savings, sold all our valuables and borrowed from friends and relatives to be able to afford his initial cycles of therapy. We spent close to INR 7,00,000.00- a sum I’ve never even hoped to own.
Yet, this has not been enough to help save our baby.
He still needs INR 15,00,000.00 for a bone marrow transplant if he is to survive cancer.
Jashwin’s therapy and medication have not been effective in fighting off the cancer. He urgently needs surgery before his illness snatches away his life.
Mentally, physically, and financially exhausted- we have no means to afford our son’s treatment.
Your donations are his only chance. Please, help us bring our little boy back home.
