3 years after our daughter Avani was born, we welcomed our son Neeraj in 2016. Our happiness was immeasurable- my husband distributed sweets to the entire ward. Both my kids were just like angels.
‘Growing up, Avani and Neeraj enjoyed each other's company. They went to school together, played together and had the best time as siblings.’
But sadly this happiness did not last long…
Avani came to me one day and told me that her leg was swollen and hurting. We knew something was not right and consulted a doctor right away.
After an examination, we were told that things looked okay and that she was simply experiencing some fatigue pain. Trusting the doctor's words, we went back home, but Avani's condition getting worse.
We are from an uneducated background, and we simply didn't know what to do. As her pain got worse, we took her to the hospital in the city.
The journey was dreadful- my daughter just kept crying.
The doctors at the hospital immediately took her in for tests. Hours later, we were told that Avani is suffering from chronic liver disease.
We were devastated.
“The only thing that can save her failing liver is an urgent transplant, it will cost Rs 16.5 lakhs,” we were told.
But this wasn't all the bad news we got. There was more misery in store for us.
A few weeks after Avani's diagnosis, my son too experienced the same symptoms and he was diagnosed with the same disease. He needs a liver transplant worth Rs 16.5 lakhs.
This news broke my husband and me to the core but we had to stay strong for our children. My husband has volunteered to donate a part of his liver to our daughter while the doctors find a match for Neeraj.
Till then we have to come up with INR 33,00,000.00 in total for their treatment. We are in no condition to afford our children's transplants. We tried asking our relatives for help, but our efforts seemed to go in vain.
At this juncture, only you can help us now. Avani and Neeraj will lose their lives without urgent treatment.
We won’t be able to live if something happens to them. Kindly donate generously to them.
