Life wasn’t always tragic for Reyan’s parents - Keerthana and Mahendra. Married for a number of years, the family has lived a modest life.
Mahendra works as a private teacher and earns just enough for the family to get by. “Even though we were struggling financially, our son kept us satisfied with our lives,” he said.
However, that all changed when Reyan was diagnosed with a tumour in his brain.
The Past
At 2 years of age, their son was having difficulty performing basic movements. While other children his age were learning to take their first steps, Reyan could barely crawl.
As the problem persisted, the parents got increasingly worried and rushed him to the hospital.
“I expected the doctors to tell me this was normal and that he would be alright if he recovered over time with medication and rest.
But I got the shock of my life when they informed me that he suffered from a brain complication,” Keerthana recalled.
Reyan was diagnosed with a brain tumour. “Your son will need brain surgery at the earliest in order to live,” the doctors informed the couple.
The parents were heartbroken and terrified. Immediately, they took on loans and sold off everything they owned to pay for their 2-year-old’s surgery.
However, the procedure failed & their son’s condition took a nosedive.
Present
Due to the tumour in his brain, Reyan has partially lost his sight and is now unable to walk.
“It aches my heart to see my son go through so much at such a young age. He cries all night long, begging for us to take him home. I can only sit by his side & pray that he recovers,” grieved Keerthana.
The doctors have advised Reyan to undergo tumour removal therapy. Costs for the same are estimated at a ginormous INR 17,00,000.00.
“Please, please help us. We do not have enough money to help Reyan. We feel completely powerless when all we want is to help our son and take him home.” Mahendra cried.
They still need to raise INR 17,00,000.00 for the crucial life-saving treatment. They have run out of options and cannot do this on their own.
They need kind people to join in the fight to keep their son alive. Your contribution can be the deciding factor in saving little Reyan’s life.
