What is Colon Cancer?

Colon cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the inner walls of large intestine. Hence, it is known as colon or colorectal cancer. This form of cancer is often deadly because it does not show any symptom in the early stages of development. Hence, regular diagnostic tests are recommended if you are at a high risk. Although the treatment of colon cancer depends on various factors, the most common treatment method prescribed is surgery.

What is colon cancer? 

Colon cancer is a type of cancer in the colon. Colon is a part of your large intestine. Colorectal cancer occurs when the cells present in the inner lining of colon start growing abnormally. These abnormal cells start forming growths called polyps. These polyps further grow and affect other areas of the large intestine and may take 10 years or more to reach a stage where symptoms start appearing.
