World Asthma Day

    World Asthma Day

World Asthma Day is celebrated annually on the first Tuesday of May in partnership with healthcare organizations and asthma educators around the world. The day is devoted to increasing public awareness of asthma and the problems that asthmatics face on a daily basis. The ultimate objective is to improve treatment for people across the globe.

World Asthma Day was first commemorated in 1998 in connection with the inaugural World Asthma Meeting in Barcelona, Spain. It is recognized by more than 35 nations. As a result of the growing popularity of World Asthma Day, it is today a significant global event.

Asthma affects over 300 million people worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. It’s a chronic sickness that affects the airways that link the lungs to the rest of the body over a period of time. Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) occurs when the lining of the bronchial tubes expands, constricting the airways and reducing the airflow into and out of the lungs. These assaults have the potential to cause sleeplessness, tiredness, and a decrease in activity levels, among other things.

The Importance of World Asthma Day in the Year 2022

The goal of World Asthma Day is to close the gaps in asthma care. The day has been designated to raise awareness of the medical challenges that asthma sufferers confront, as well as to advocate equitable access to diagnosis and treatment (medicine).

The day is also recognized for raising awareness about the importance of improving asthma-related communication and educating people about the disease. Ketto aims to bridge the gap in health care and make it affordable to all. Sign-up on Ketto today and support a cause or start a fundraiser for asthma care.
