What is Breast Cancer?

Cancer occurs due to uncontrolled cell growth which results in mutations in the genes. When cancer develops in the breast cells, it is known as breast cancer. It is way more common in women than in men.

In this guide by Ketto, you will learn everything necessary about breast cancer like its types, causes, symptoms, & treatment.

Where Does Breast Cancer Form?

In most cases, breast cancer forms in the lobules or ducts of the breast. Lobules are the glands which secrete milk and canals are the pathways that transfer milk from the glands to the nipple for excretion. In some cases, this cancer can also occur in the fatty tissues or the fibrous connective tissues found within your breast.

How Does Breast Cancer Spread?

Once the cancerous cells are formed, they invade the surrounding healthy cells in the breast. In the later stages of development, they travel to other locations in the body through lymph nodes found under the arms.
