Types of Stomach Cancer

How many types of stomach cancers are there? 

Stomach cancers can be of several different types which some are very rare, and most of the others are called adenocarcinoma. Adenocarcinoma Cancer starts from the lining of the stomach. Types of stomach cancer in detail are like 

●     Adenocarcinoma

Adenocarcinoma is kind of a cell which is present in the inner lining of the stomach. The padding in which these cells are present is the most central line of the stomach. Adenocarcinoma is the most popular type of stomach cancer among all kinds of stomach cancer patients.

●     Lymphoma

Another kind of cancer is Lymphoma. This Lymphoma cancer generally includes the immune system tissue. Lymphoma stomach cancer can start anywhere like lymph tissues can be found anywhere, including the stomach. Among 100 per cent of all stomach, cancer lymphoma is found only in 4 per cent of people having stomach cancer. 

●     Gastrointestinal stromal tumors

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are found in individual cells present in the lining of the stomach. The lining of the stomach in which these specialized cells are present is called interstitial cells of Canal. Under a microscope, interstitial cells of Canal look similar muscle or nerve cells. These cancerous cells can generate any part of the digestive tract, but mostly for about 60 to 70 per cent occur in the stomach only. 

●     Carcinoid tumors

Carcinoid tumors generally make hormone-producing cells of the stomach. These 

Carcinoid tumors do not produce anywhere else in the stomach and out of 100 per cent only accounts for 3 per cent among all stomach cancers. 

Stomach carcinoid tumors are there in 3 types 

  1. Type I and II ECL-cell carcinoids. These are carcinoid cells which rarely generate to other parts of the body and do not produce any symptoms. During the endoscopy of the stomach cancer patient, Type I and II ECL-cell carcinoids are the most common tumors found when a person is having a health issue like acid reflux. 
  2. Type III ECL-cell carcinoids. These are the most aggressive carcinoid tumor. When carcinoid tumors secrete, an excessive basis can lead to a condition called carcinoid syndrome. Carcinoid syndrome is the situation include flushing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constriction of the bronchial tubes in the lungs. In Fact, in some cases, these carcinoid syndromes can cause heart troubles like valve dysfunction.
