    Hi everyone,


    Like always, we'll start off with a big thank you to all the campaign supporters who have made this project possible.

    One month and 550kms into the project, we feel that  the stories that we're encountering everyday makes all the effort and your contributions a justified deal. These are stories that have never seen the light of day, questions have never been  asked to these most forgotten and ignored communities. We are extremely happy that we got the opportunity to undertake such a journey.

  • Campaign Wrap Up

    We finally reached a total of INR 2,92,966 for the project, thanks to the support of 70 wonderful contributors including you, who believe in the project and the need to talk about these stories. 


    Though far from our target of INR 10 lakhs, this gives us enough to start off with and we plan to go ahead with the project with the contribution we've been able to raise and try raising funds again in a second round at a later stage. We really do believe that these stories need to be brought into the mainstream and we will continue to strive to make it possible.

About the Fundraiser

Hi,

 

This year (starting in June), i’m going to walk along the Ganga for 4 months, almost 3000kms from the ocean to the glaciers at 14000 feet, accompanied by a team from Digital Nerve who will be filming a documentary on the river, presenting a very personal narrative of the Ganga and stories of the people who affect and are affected by it.

Our past explorations have brought us to the understanding that there's a need to bring important conversations into the mainstream. This campaign will help us learn and share with you stories of the people of the basin who depend on the river and what urban/rural/industrial activities are doing to the river.

Four months of walking and filming requires a lot of resources, even with everyone working for the bare minimum and without compromising on quality or dedication. Your extremely valuable contributions will help us:

  • Stay alive (quite literally)
  • Get required equipment to do justice to the quality of  output.
  • Arrange for logistics (4 months of camping gear/ permissions/ transportation vehicle/etc.)
  • Post production & creation of various types of art in collaboration with amazing artists (phase 2).

I've cycled across the country and walked across Rajasthan & Haryana, working on documenting causes and creating social impact along with.
