About the Fundraiser

At CISV we believe that peace education begins with children, which is why our camps begin at the age of 11. Participants range from the age of 11 to 19 (as delegates) to 21 and over (as leaders and volunteers). All CISV activities focus on Peace Education and is affiliated to UNESCO. Each camp we ensure our participants develop set of Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge that are required to make them Active World Peaceful Citizens. Our mission says it all : CISV educates and inspire action for a more just and peaceful world.

For the past 64 years, CISV India has sent delegations for camps from the utopian Scandinavian countries in Europe and the vibrant, cultural ones across the Middle East, to the picturesque and lively lands of North and South America, all the back to the vast, incredible homeland of our own Asia. Our enthusiastic young delegates and committed leaders have represented India at these camps, exchanging ideas about world peace, cross-cultural harmony and social conscientiousness.

In India, sport is not valued as much as many other countries. However, it has huge potential to improve health, well-being and both personal and community development.

Participants will help build or renovate a sport infrastructure for the use of an underprivileged community, whilst learning about the challenges faced in accessing sports facilities and quality educational programs. The participants will also lead activities, games and sports sessions with children from the partner school. They will share practices and educational materials with local teachers, as well as discover Indian sports among the children.

The Project  will work with Nehru Education Society (NES). It is an educational institution teaching 300 children from Grades 7-12th. Do not have any sports development due to lack of equipment and teaching skills.

The Project will be dived into 3 phases-

Phases 1- Build an international standard Multi Sport facility in a rural village in Transad, which today is a big wasteland.

Phases 2- We will be holding sport based education session with the teenagers on site. This will encourage the mixing of boys and girls, breaking the gender barrier.

Phase 3- Hold training for the teachers concerning education tools based on sports and other social issues.

Also we will be training the school children in different sports and also addressing the major social issues in the region.

These issues will range from Gender Diversity and Sustainable Development ( Water and Sanitation, Female Hygiene)

The IPP plans to get the Community united with the medium of Sport, together with the help of the incoming International participants.

CISV's approach to building global friendship and living together will be used to highlight the opportunity for sports and games to contribute to social inclusion.
