Just two weeks to go before we tumble into the 2018 edition of the Bangalore Queer Film Festival!  We've got performances and over 80 films from over 25 countries lined up. Can't wait to see you all there!

As always, BQFF is free-entry, non-profit and run by volunteers. But it still costs money! And we have a long way to go before we reach our goal. Please donate. Generously!

About the Fundraiser

Come March 2018, be ready to immerse yourself in a world of real queerness, with films, art and performances that will leave you spent! We’re talking about the 9th Edition of The Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF), which is all set to happen between the 9th and 11th of March in Bangalore at the Goethe-Institut, Max Mueller Bhavan.

As always, the BQFF is a free-entry festival which pushes for maximum participation. We make this possible by raising funds from the larger LGBT community as well as our allies and supporters, and we’ve come this far simply because of the support we’ve received from you over the years. The festival has grown to become a much-anticipated fixture in Bangalore’s cultural calendar, with thousands of film and art lovers coming to enjoy good cinema from over two dozen countries, photo exhibits, panel discussions, poetry readings, concerts, theatre performances, and dance. The donations that the festival receives from you every year are what keep it alive and help to create this much-needed space in Bangalore.

The 2018 festival promises all of the above and much more to its audience, and we would like all of our community members, supporters, friends, lovers and family to attend and experience four days of adrenalin rushes, secret crushes, and a seriously playful engagement with cinema, art and performance.

Support BQFF 2018 by donating!

The films we select try to push boundaries of understanding and are invested in the mental, emotional and physical lives of those who stand outside the gender and sexual norm. We’re committed to the circulation of good queer cinema, including films from non-Western locations, films by independent filmmakers, popular cinema that experiments with LGBT themes, and experimental films that push aesthetic limits.

As a festival, we believe strongly in community funding, and a large part of the festival expenses are met with donations made by those who are invested in the kind of public event that BQFF is. Every year has seen an increase in the number of supporters and we really hope that this support continues to grow in the coming years so that we can bring in exciting new films, performances, discussions with filmmakers and exhibits.
