Did you know that all our homes have a Children's Food and Nutrition Committee which is responsible for teaching the children about proper nutrition?

They are also involved in planning meals after discussing it with their peers. Isn't that wonderful?

Keertikha came to live at a children’s home (orphanage) in June 2016. She was all of 9 years old then. She had lost her mother to an illness and her father could not afford to take care of her anymore. With no other option available, he decided to leave Keertikha at the local children’s home.

When Keertikha’s haemoglobin was first tested, it was at an alarmingly low level of 4.2 g/dL. Inadequate nutrition had badly affected the health of this little one and had disrupted her growth.

Our mentoring doctor suggested an iron-rich, nutritious menu for Keertikha. She was provided an extra daily glass of milk and additional health supplements. She was served dates, prunes, and iron-rich vegetables to improve her hemoglobin. In just a few months, Keerthika’s hemoglobin went up to a healthy 11.8g/dL and has been steady ever since. Her height has also increased steadily and she has gained about 5 inches. Below is Keertikha's hemoglobin test results from every quarter between June'16 and March'17.

This is Keerthika in October 2017. She is healthy, going to school and in the care of a loving family. Today, she is thriving!

Miracle Foundation strives to do the same for every child without parental care. This Children's Day, join us in providing quality healthcare to 300 orphans for a full year and put them on a path to good health and well being.

Miracle Foundation India ensures each child receives adequate nutrition and healthcare, including preventative care like immunizations, regular visits from doctors, and emergency care when needed. Before our wellness interventions, 100% of the children we support have poor health status, but our interventions lower that to only 19%.

Using the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as the foundation for all we do, we have codified the Rights of the Child and developed a Thrive Scale, which meticulously measures the progress of every child in our care. The Thrive Scale not only gives those caring for orphaned children an assessment of how they’re doing, but specific and practical steps to improve.

By the right to healthcare and nutrition, we monitor the height, weight, hemoglobin, immunization records, and weekly menu for each of the children we support, and intervene quickly to address any issues. The progress of these children is monitored monthly by our local team on the ground. This approach ensures that children are receiving effective, holistic healthcare services that help them thrive.

This Children’s Day, donate to provide quality healthcare to 100 orphans like Keertikha. Your support will empower them and change the trajectory of their little lives.

Miracle Foundation India is an NGO that brings life-changing care to the world’s orphans. Our mission is simple. Miracle Foundation India stands for orphaned children and helps them thrive in real time. We’ve created a measurable, repeatable and systematic method to ensure that orphans are educated, fed, loved and safe. At the same time, we explore every avenue to reunite them with their parents or relatives, when possible. Our method:

  • Guides leaders to resettle children with a caring, responsible relative or family—and help them stay together
  • Ensures organizations meet the 12 Rights of the Child and rise to international standards
  • Transitions orphanages into Centres for Excellence where children thrive instead of reside

Our goal is for every child to live in a loving family; to become a healthy, happy, income-producing person—and experience a true sense of belonging.
