About the Fundraiser

An Indian athlete has an opportunity to go where no Indian has gone before.

Vishwaraj Jadeja-- a.k.a Vish (which is also the sound you hear when he zooms by)-- is a Long track Ice speed-Skater from India.

Vish has been moving mountains just to exist in a sport India is not too familiar with. He is mighty good too, and is in with a very real chance to represent India at the Winter Olympics in four years

He has broken national records over various distances over 65 (!) times, and is getting faster and stronger every day. Currently, he is training in The Netherlands under the watchful eyes of veteran champion-maker coach Wim Nieuwenhuizen.

Here's the problem: Vish is progressing towards his goal without any substantial financial backing. His coach and contemporaries have shown immense faith and belief in his skills, selflessly contributing to his success.

He is thousands of miles away from home and determined to perform at the highest level of his sport.

Conditions are far from ideal, but his spirit is undying. But that's what it takes.

We've all heard of Champions that have sacrificed everything to be at the top of their sport, but here we have one in flesh and blood-- reaching out to make us part of his journey.

This journey has been an uphill battle so far, but with the help of his Dutch coach, Vish is on his way to achieve something that has never been done before: To become INDIA'S FIRST OLYMPIAN ICE SKATER.

In order to be part of this unique adventure, a level field must be created for him-- with YOUR help.
