Crowdfunding made this possible. When disaster struck Nepal, the world united to raise more than 1 crore for the earthquake victims by launching fundraisers on Ketto. Ketto became the highest single entity to raise funds for CARE INDIA, an NGO which provided on ground help in Nepal.

Bollywood actor and co-founder of Ketto - Kunal Kapoor flagged off the first Fund Raising in collaboration with CARE INDIA to provide survival kits to the quake-hit victims. Other celebrities soon followed the race with the likes of Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt and many more raising lakhs of rupees, making the Support Nepal Drive a huge success. The network grew and the campaign went viral. Support came in from all fronts with individuals, corporates; NGO’s coming together and raising an amount of a whopping 80 lakh in a span of 3 days!

Within a week of the tragedy, the relief drive picked up with CARE INDIA receiving the necessary funds and being the first one to reach Gorkha for help. The funds raised were utilised toward providing the victims with medicine, shelter and rehabilitation, as well as kits, including - tarpaulin, mats, hygiene kit (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary napkins & disinfectants soaps) and blankets. It was a situation where everyone wanted to help and do their bit. We remember constant communication with campaigners who wanted to raise funds and reach Nepal to provide help immediately.

It was a situation when any help was great help. Being our neighbour nation, Nepal received immense support the Ketto community. With such kind of support, the situation in Nepal seems to improve. In fact, we plan to gauge the impact first hand and ensure things have moved smoothly in Nepal.
